Goes Montevideo (Metropolitan) strengthened their roster with the addition of 30-year-old American center Tyler Harris (208cm-103kg-1993, college: Auburn). He moved there from Al Shamal in the Qatari QBL league. In 15 games, he recorded very impressive stats: 20.5ppg, 9.9rpg, 2.1apg, and 1.9spg last season. It was a very spectacular season in his career as he was voted Asia-Basket.com All-Qatar D1 Center of the Year and selected to Asia-Basket.com All-Qatar D1 First Team and voted to Asia-Basket.com All-Qatar D1 Cup First Team. He also played 5 games in the West Asia Super League where he averaged 14.8ppg, 7.0rpg, and 2.2apg. Last season, he played at Al Jaish (SBL) in the Syrian league.
In 2017, a year after graduating, he was drafted by the Agua Caliente Clippers of Ontario (G-League) in the first round (25th overall).
Harris graduated from Auburn University in 2016 and it'll be his eighth season in pro basketball.
He is a very experienced player. Thanks to his pro career, he managed to play on four different continents (Europe, Asia, Latin America, and North America) in eleven different countries. Harris has played professionally in Argentina (Penarol), Colombia (Bucaros), France (Metropolitans), Japan (89ers), Saudi Arabia (Ittihad), Syria, NBA (LA Clippers), Uruguay (Trouville), NBA G League (Cleveland Charge and Windy City Bulls), and NBA Summer League (Denver Nuggets).
Harris' team reached the League Semifinals in 2023.
He is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered the top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. Harris played for other colleges like Providence College and North Carolina State University.
