Vazquez's double-double lands him Metropolitan Hoops Agents Player of the Week award

Manu Vazquez

26-year old Spanish forward Manu Vazquez (202-F-1998) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Goes Montevideo and receives a Hoops Agents Metropolitan Player of the Week award for round 8.
He had a double-double of 16 points and 15 rebounds, while his team crushed L.Borges (#14, 2-6) with 22-point margin 81-59. Goes is placed at 4th position in Uruguayan Metropolitan. They would have been even better if they did not have these two lost games earlier in Regular Season. Goes will need more victories to improve their 5-2 record. In the team's last game Vazquez had a remarkable 62.5% from 2-point range. He has many years of experience at Goes, through which he has constantly improved. Vazquez has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in rebounds (3rd best: 11.7rpg) and averages solid 54.5% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Lucio Castellani (196-F-1994) of Stockholmo Montevideo. He is Argentinian forward in his first season at Stockolmo. In the last game Castellani recorded an impressive double-double of 20 points and 11 rebounds. Of course Stockolmo cruised to a 94-84 relatively comfortable win over the higher-ranked Montevideo (#3, 5-2). This victory allowed Stockolmo to move up to 6th position in the standings. His team lost some distance to top teams. But a 5-3 record is not bad and everything may still change. Castellani is one of the most experienced players at Stockolmo and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 19.6ppg (#5). He also registered 8.9 boards per game.

Third place about best performers goes to guard Taalib Holloman (193-G) of Verdirrojo Montevideo (#9). Holloman got into 30-points club by scoring 34 points in the last round. He was a key player of Verdirrojo, leading his team to a 100-89 win against the lower-ranked O.Mundial (#15, 1-6). Verdirrojo needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 3 victories and 3 lost games. Holloman has a great season in Uruguay. After only 6 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 20.5ppg (4th best).
