Tirrell Brown gets MVP of the Week award for Uruguayan Metropolitan

Experienced American Tirrell Brown (198-PF-1993) had a very impressive game in the last round for Atletico Tabare and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Metropolitan Player of the Week award for round 10.
The 31-year old power forward had the game-high 33 points adding four rebounds and six assists for Tabare in his team's victory, helping them to beat O.Mundial (#15, 1-8) 91-84. The game was not the highest importance and did not have significant influence on top of the standings. Tabare is placed at 10th position in Uruguayan Metropolitan. Tabare is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 4-5 record. In the team's last game Brown had a remarkable 71.4% from 2-point range. He has many years of experience at Tabare, through which he has constantly improved. Ouachita Baptist University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Brown is league's best scorer averaging so far 24.8ppg. Brown is in league's top in rebounds (8th best: 9.7rpg) and averages solid 61.4% FGP and 44.2% from behind 3-point line.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young American forward Randy Rickards (201-F-2000) of Verdirrojo Montevideo. Rickards impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 26 points and 12 rebounds. Bad luck as Verdirrojo lost that game 77-85 to slightly lower-ranked Sayago (#12, 3-6). The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. Verdirrojo dropped in the standings to 11th position. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 3-5 record. Rickards is one of the most experienced players at Verdirrojo and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 22.0ppg (#3). He also registered 16.4 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was Manuel Oyenard (194-F-2000) of Colon F.C. (#6). Oyenard scored 29 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. Despite Oyenard's great performance the Colon lost 85-98 to the higher-ranked Olimpia (#1, 7-1). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. The last thing Colon needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 6 victories and 4 lost games. Oyenard has a very solid season. In 10 games in Uruguay he scored 15.1ppg. He also has 7.6rpg and a FGP of 52.3%.
