Defending champion Atletico Aguada Montevideo (LUB) agreed terms with experienced 34-year old American forward Jamil Wilson (201cm-104kg-1990, college: Marquette). He was the top scorer at Osos de Manati in Puerto Rican BSN league. In 14 games just recently he had 11.5ppg, 8.6rpg, 2.9apg and 1.5bpg. He helped them to make it to the Puerto Rican BSN final. The last season he played at Anyang KGC (KBL) in South Korean league. Wilson also played 17 games in South Korean KBL where he recorded 10.8ppg, 3.6rpg and 1.5apg. The other team he played shortly was FiberXers (PBA) in Filipino league.
He has tried to make it to the NBA and played in the NBA Pro Summer League in 2016.
Wilson is quite experienced player. His career allowed him to visit four different continents, while he played in thirteen different countries. He tasted the life as a pro basketball player in Europe, Asia, Latin America and of course North America. Wilson has played previously professionally in Germany, Israel (Hapoel Jerusalem and Maccabi Effie Capital Rishon Le-Zion), Italy (RO Virtus, Virtus Bologna and Torino), Lithuania (Prienu KKSC), Mexico (Plateros), Philippines, Russia (UNICS Kazan), Venezuela (Guaros), NBA (LA Clippers), Uruguay (Nacional), NBA G League (Indiana Mad Ants) and The Basketball Tournament (Boeheim's Army and Golden Eagles).
Among many awards he was USBasket.com TBT All-Tournament Team back in 2020.
He graduated from Marquette University in 2014 and it will be his eleventh (!!!) season as a professional player. Wilson played also for University of Oregon for one year.
