Thomas' double-double lands him (Second Stage) Player of the Week award

29-year old ARG-USAn power forward Erik Thomas (195-PF-1995) had a great game in the last round for Urunday Universitario Montevideo (they play in Losers Stage) and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 4 (Second Stage).
He had a double-double of 29 points and 17 rebounds, while his team edged out Bigua (#2, 11-14) 78-77. Urunday maintains the 4th position in their group in the Uruguayan league. Urunday is rather a weak team placed in lower part in the standings. But it was their 16th lost game this season out of 25 games. In the team's last game Thomas had a remarkable 81.8% from 2-point range. He turned to be Urunday's top player in his first season with the team. Erik Thomas averages this season 21.6ppg and 9.7rpg.

Second best performed player last round was Manuel Mayora (180-PG-1998) of Losers Stage top-ranked Hebraica Macabi Montevideo. He is a guard in his first season at Hebraica. In the last game Mayora recorded an impressive double-double of 33 points and 11 rebounds. Of course Hebraica cruised to a 98-88 relatively comfortable win over the lower-ranked Trouville (#6, 4-21). This victory allowed Hebraica to move up to 1st position in Losers Stage. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 12-14 record. Mayora is a newcomer at Hebraica and quickly became one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to forward Josh Cunningham (203-F-1996) of Losers Stage second-best Atletico Bigua Montevideo. Cunningham scored 23 points and grabbed 13 rebounds (!!!). Despite Cunningham's great performance the Bigua lost 77-78 to #4 ranked Urunday. But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. The chances of Bigua ranking at the top of Losers Stage, however are very questionable as they have already lost 14 games, recording just eleven victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Cunningham could help Bigua to bring them higher in the standings. Cunningham has a great season in Uruguay. After 21 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 8.0rpg (8th best).
