Zaporta's double-double lands him Liga de Ascenso Player of the Week award

Cuban Center Arle Zaporta (C) had a very impressive game in the last round for Yale Montevideo and receives a Hoops Agents Liga de Ascenso Player of the Week award for round 5.
He had a double-double of 23 points and 15 rebounds, while his team outclassed L.Borges (#6, 3-2) with 28-point margin 96-68. Yale is placed at 7th position in Uruguayan Liga de Ascenso. Yale is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 2-2 record. In the team's last game Zaporta had a remarkable 60.0% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at Yale, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Arle Zaporta averages this season 14.5ppg and 8.3rpg.

Second best performed player last round was Dwayne Russell (203-F-1998) of Club Atletico Olimpia Montevideo. He is American forward in his first season at Olimpia. In the last game Russell recorded an impressive double-double of 25 points and 12 rebounds. Bad luck as Olimpia was edged by the higher-ranked Lagomar (#2, 4-1) 98-96. Olimpia are still at the very bottom. 4 lost games are too many considering they did not win any game. Russell is one of the most experienced players at Olimpia and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 19.3ppg (#6). He also registered 7.5 boards per game.

Third place about best performers goes to forward Ezequiel Bell (202-F/C-1999) of Capitol Montevideo (#12). Bell scored 27 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. Despite Bell's great performance the Capitol lost 71-87 to the higher-ranked Stockolmo (#3, 4-1). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. Capitol can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 1-4 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Bell has individually a great season in Uruguay. After only 5 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 23.4ppg (best scorer) and rebounds with 9.6rpg (6th best).
