The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Montevideo: Lagomar (#4) and Urunday (#7). Lagomar (5-3) smashed visiting Urunday (3-5) by 32 points 69-37. Lagomar held Urunday to an opponent 19.4 percent shooting from the field compared to 39.3 percent accuracy of the winners. They outrebounded Urunday 50-31 including a 36-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Paraguayan forward Natalia Quevedo (170-1998) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Sofia Podesta (161-2003) contributed with 16 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Guard Antonella Ugolini (170-2002) replied with 10 points and 9 rebounds for Urunday. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Lagomar maintains fourth position with 5-3 record, which they share with Aguada. Urunday at the other side keeps the seventh place with five games lost.
Another interesting game was again a derby between two teams from Montevideo: Malvin (#3) and Lagomar (#4). Lagomar was smashed at home by 39 points 43-82 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Lagomar. Worth to mention a great performance of Argentinian forward Carla Miculka (174-1993) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 12 points, 15 rebounds and 8 assists and Aldana Gayoso who added 17 points during the contest. point guard Catalina Tano (174-2003) responded with 12 points and 6 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Malvin have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place. Lagomar at the other side keeps the fourth position with three games lost. They share it with Aguada.
Another interesting game was again a derby match of two local teams from Montevideo: D.Sporting (#1) and Yale (#2). D.Sporting (7-1) won against visiting Yale (6-2) 72-68. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The winners were led by Josefina Rivera who had that evening a double-double by scoring 23 points, 11 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Even 13 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists by Julieta Sienra did not help to save the game for Yale. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. D.Sporting have an impressive five-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 7-1 record. Loser Yale dropped to the third place with two games lost.

There were no big surprises in other games of round 8: winless Cordon was smashed by 25 de Agosto on the road 100-53. Tabare lost to Juventud on its own court 49-60. Aguada managed to outperform Urunday in a road game 70-62.
