The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Montevideo: Malvin (#3) and Lagomar (#5). Malvin (9-3) smashed visiting Lagomar (5-8) by 17 points 72-55. Malvin outrebounded Lagomar 40-29 including 30 on the defensive glass. Malvin looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. It was a good game for guard Carolina Fernandez (186-2003) who led her team to a victory with 19 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Colombian forward Mabel Martinez (180-1986) contributed with 20 points for the winners. Belen Moreira (-1999) replied with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 10 rebounds (on 11-of-13 shooting from the field) for Lagomar. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Malvin moved-up to second place, which they share with Yale. Lagomar lost third consecutive game. They keep the fifth position with eight games lost.
An interesting game for D.Sporting (12-1) which hosted in Montevideo 4th ranked Aguada (6-7). First ranked D.Sporting had an easy win 100-65. Argentinian Camila Suarez (178-2000) scored 26 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals to lead the charge for the winners and Julieta Laubert chipped in 17 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) during the contest. The best for the losing side was Argentinian swingman Agustina Garcia (173-1996) with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 16 rebounds and 8 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. D.Sporting have a solid four-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 12-1 record. Aguada at the other side keeps the fourth place with seven games lost. They share the position with Urunday.
