Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Penarol as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Penarol defeated 4th ranked Aguada in Montevideo 103-89. Penarol made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. Guard Santiago Vescovi (191-2001, college: Tennessee) orchestrated the victory by scoring 23 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists. Naturalized Italian guard Federico Bavosi (190-1981) contributed with 15 points and 4 assists for the winners. American Earl Clark (208-1988, college: Louisville, agency: BIG) replied with 23 points for Aguada. Undefeated Penarol (6-0) have an impressive six-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Aguada at the other side dropped to the fifth place with three games lost. They share the position with Defensor. Aguada will play next round against Welcome trying to get back on the winning streak. It will be a derby game for which supporters look forward to, where their team will face at home their local rival from Montevideo - Welcome. Penarol will try to continue on its current victory against eleventh ranked Goes. It will be extra interesting game as Goes is their local rival from Montevideo.
Another exciting game for Defensor (4-3) which played in Montevideo against U.Atletica (3-4). Sixth ranked Defensor saved the game by a tiny margin of one point 75-74. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Facundo Terra (187-1998) who helped to win the game recording 23 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists and Theo Metzger who added 20 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Naturalized Italian point guard Mateo Giano (186-2000) responded with 21 points. Defensor moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Aguada. Newly promoted U.Atletica dropped to the seventh position with four games lost. They share it with Bigua and Urunday. Defensor's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Montevideo Cordon.
Another interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Montevideo: Nacional (#2) and Urunday (#7). Nacional (6-1) smashed visiting Urunday (3-4) by 34 points 104-70. The winners were led by Ezequiel Bell who had that evening a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Even 8 points and 10 rebounds by Bruno Curadossi did not help to save the game for Urunday. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Nacional have an impressive six-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains second position with 6-1 record having just one point less than leader Penarol. Loser Urunday keeps the seventh place with four games lost. They share the position with U.Atletica and Bigua. Nacional's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Montevideo Hebraica.

There were no big surprises in other games of round 8: winless Welcome was smashed by Hebraica on the road 96-72. Malvin won against Bigua on its own court 90-89. Goes unfortunately lost to Cordon in Montevideo 85-94.
The most impressive performance of 8th round was 26 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists by Admon Gilder of Cordon.
