Luis Santos gets MVP of the Week award for Uruguayan LUB (by Hoops Agents)

Experienced Dominican Rep. Luis Santos (203-C-1994) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Atletico Aguada Montevideo and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 13.
The 31-year old center had a double-double of 27 points and 10 rebounds, while his team beat Urunday (#8, 6-7) 104-99. Aguada is placed at 5th position in Uruguayan LUB. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Aguada will need more victories to improve their 7-4 record. Santos turned to be Aguada's top player in his first season with the team.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young American forward Justin Strings (201-F-1996) of Goes Montevideo. Strings impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 25 points and 11 rebounds. Bad luck as Goes was edged by the higher-ranked Bigua (#6, 7-5) 110-106. Goes is still second from the bottom in the standings. 9 lost games are too many comparing to just three victories Goes managed to get this year. Strings is a newcomer at Goes and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was American Elijah Weaver (197-PG-1998) of Defensor Sporting Club Montevideo (#7). Weaver showcased his all-around game by recording 28 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists in the last round. Despite Weaver's great performance the Defensor lost 90-91 to the higher-ranked Hebraica (#4, 8-4). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. The last thing Defensor needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 6 victories and 5 lost games. Weaver has a very solid season. In 4 games in Uruguay he scored 21.8ppg.
