Vescovi's 22 points and 8 assists give him Player of the Week award

24-year old guard Santiago Vescovi (191-G-2001) had a great game in the last round for league's best team Club Atletico Penarol Montevideo and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 14.
He had the game-high 22 points adding seven rebounds and eight assists for Penarol in his team's victory, helping them to beat U.Atletica (#9, 5-9) 88-80. It allowed Penarol to consolidate first place in the Uruguayan league. Penarol has a very good season and are considered to have a run for the championship title. They improved their record to 12-1. In the team's last game Vescovi had a remarkable four three-pointers out of 8 attempts. He turned to be Penarol's top player in his first season with the team. University of Tennessee graduate has very impressive stats this year. Vescovi is in league's top in assists (5th best: 5.7apg) and averages solid 62.0% FGP and 40.6% from behind 3-point line.

Second best performed player last round was James Feldeine (193-C-1988) of league's second-best Nacional De Futbol Montevideo. He is American-Dominican Rep. center in his 2nd season at Nacional. In the last game Feldeine recorded an impressive 29 points, 2 rebounds and 4 assists. Bad luck as Nacional was edged by the lower-ranked Aguada (#5, 8-4) 98-94. Nacional managed to keep the same second spot in the standings. His team's 9-4 record is not bad at all. Feldeine is well-known at Nacional and he already established his position as one of the team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 17.5ppg (#7). He also recorded 3.5 assists per game.

Third place about best performers goes to forward Federico Haller (200-F-1988) of Hebraica Macabi Montevideo (#3). Haller scored 21 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. He was a key player of Hebraica, leading his team to a 92-81 win against the lower-ranked Cordon (#11, 2-12). Hebraica needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 9 victories and 4 lost games. Haller has a very solid season. In 13 games in Uruguay he scored 12.3ppg. He also has 4.8rpg and a FGP of 61.9%.
