Zinaich number one in Uruguay LUB for round 15

American Forward Connor Zinaich (201-F-1997) had a very impressive game in the last round for second-ranked Nacional De Futbol Montevideo, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 15.
The 28-year old player was the main contributor (26 points, nine rebounds and two assists) to his team's victory, helping them to crush Goes (#10, 3-11) with 20-point margin 99-79. Nacional maintains the 2nd position in Uruguayan LUB. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Nacional will need more victories to improve their 10-4 record. Zinaich turned to be Nacional's top player in his first season with the team. Former Nova Southeastern University star has very solid stats this year. Zinaich is in league's top in points (5th best: 18.2ppg), rebounds (2nd best: 9.5rpg) and averages impressive 2.0bpg and 64.1% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was young American Jalen Canty (203-F-1995, agency: Haylett Sports) of Hebraica Macabi Montevideo. Canty had a very good evening with a double-double of 20 points and 15 rebounds. Bad luck as Hebraica lost that game 99-108 to the lower-ranked Bigua (#7, 8-6). This loss caused Hebraica to drop to 4th position in the standings. His team's 9-5 record is not bad at all. Canty is a newcomer at Hebraica, but is already one of team's top players.

Third on the list of top players last round was Spanish forward Gonzalo Iglesias (203-F-1993) of Atletico Bigua Montevideo (#7). Iglesias scored 27 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. He was a key player of Bigua, leading his team to a 108-99 win against the higher-ranked Hebraica (#4, 9-5). Bigua needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 8 victories and 6 lost games. Iglesias has a very solid season. In 14 games in Uruguay he scored 10.3ppg. Gonzalo Iglesias has also Uruguayan passport and can play in the league with a status of domestic player.
