Guaiqueries made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. Guaiqueries outrebounded Brillantes 46-25 including a 33-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Guaiqueries looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Brillantes' players. Dominican point guard Gelvis Solano (185-1994, college: Merrimack) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 10 points, 6 rebounds and 10 assists for the winners and American guard Tyrone White (201-1990, college: CSUB) chipped in 16 points. Forward Jesuangel Guillen (193-2000) responded with 15 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Guaiqueries moved-up to second place, which they share with 4 other teams. Brillantes at the other side keep the eighth position with five games lost. It's more the case of honor for local supporters and such games have that special and unique approach you cannot find in other games. Host Panteras challenged much higher ranked Pioneros giving them a very tough game, but finally losing it by five points 97-92.
