Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Boca Jrs as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Boca Jrs defeated 12th ranked Atenas in Buenos Aires 72-62. Boca Jrs dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Atenas' 24. The best player for the winners was Manuel Rodriguez (203-2) who had a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds. Juan Contegrand chipped in 24 points and 8 rebounds. Boca Jrs' coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Jonatan Basualdo (198-99) produced a double-double by scoring 31 points and 12 rebounds for the guests. Undefeated Boca Jrs (6-0) have an impressive series of six victories in a row. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Comunicaciones. Atenas at the other side dropped to the thirteenth place with four games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. Atenas will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest in order to get back on the winning path. Boca Jrs will try to continue on its current victory against fourth ranked Instituto in Cordoba.
Important game to mention about took place in Obera. Sixteenth ranked Gimnasia CR (2-4) saved a 2-point victory on the road edging second-ranked Obera (6-2) 82-80 on Saturday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the home team. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Obera. Uruguayan point guard Nicolas Lucchini (188-3) orchestrated the victory by scoring 19 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Ramiro Stehli contributed with 16 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Franco Fragozo (198-1) answered with 28 points and 6 rebounds for Obera. Obera's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Gimnasia CR moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Obera at the other side dropped to the third position with two games lost. Gimnasia CR will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Obera will play on the road against Union in Santa Fe and hopes to get back on the winning track.
Bottom-ranked H.Americano (0-6) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 84-59 loss to seventh ranked San Lorenzo (4-2) in Almagra on Thursday evening. Ian Cerino stepped up with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. San Lorenzo's coach felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Ramiro Ledesma responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 16 rebounds. San Lorenzo moved-up to fifth place. H.Americano lost their sixth game in a row. They still close the standings with six games lost. San Lorenzo will meet at home Regatas (#7) in the next round. H.Americano will play against Union (#11) and hopes to get finally their first victory.

Other games of round 5 were quite predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
Gimnasia lost to undefeated Comunicaciones in Mercedes 68-111. Penarol beat La Union at home 98-84. Instituto destroyed Quimsa on the opponent's court 72-47. Union unfortunately lost to La Union in a home game 78-82. Argentino lost to undefeated Comunicaciones on the road 68-81. Olimpico was defeated by Instituto on its own court 74-83. Argentino was smashed by Obera in a road game 99-49.



Comunicaciones - Gimnasia 111-68

There was no surprise in Mercedes where 16th ranked Gimnasia CR (2-4) was crushed by leader Comunicaciones (6-0) 111-68 on Thursday. Comunicaciones dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Gimnasia CR's 34. They outrebounded Gimnasia CR 53-29 including a 35-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Comunicaciones shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 54.2 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Guard Francisco Llanos (182-2) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 7 rebounds, 11 assists and 6 steals for the winners and swingman Matias Nunez (191-99) chipped in 14 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Five Comunicaciones players scored in double figures. Comunicaciones' coach felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Valentin Campano responded with 23 points and 6 rebounds and guard Ramiro Stehli (190-2) scored 17 points. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Comunicaciones. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Boca Jrs. Loser Gimnasia CR dropped to the thirteenth place with four games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. Comunicaciones will meet Olimpico (#18) in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Gimnasia CR will have a break next round.
