Guatemala wins COCABA - Jul. 24, 2007
Team
Guatemala triumphed in the Female edition of the COCABA Championship 2007,
ending the competition undefeated, with a 5-0 record. In the Final Game,
Guatemala defeated Costa Rica 70-59, with
Cynthia Rivera (-83) leading the score at 22 points and
Blanca Amado (-80) adding 13 opts and 12 rebs. The other best performers were: in
Guatemala
Magda Valdes (-76), with 12 points, and
Alma Lopez (-G-87) with 11 pts and 7 rebs. The most outstanding players in Costa
Rica were
Natalia Galvez (-85), who scored 29 points, and
Marielena Vargas (-81), who added 12. Both Costa Rica and Guatemala,
however, qualified for the next Centrobasket tournment. See here down the final

Salvador gave no changce to Nicaragua crushing them with almost 30 points
difference (75-46) in the COCABA opener.
In the second game of the day Guatemala defeated Costa Rica 79-75.
