Nicaragua had a brief flash of the lead late in the first quarter, up 17-16 at the Polideportivo Alexis Arguello on July 13, 2026, but Mexico answered immediately and never trailed again, closing out the quarter in front and building from there. By the fourth quarter Mexico was simply pulling away, outscoring the hosts 23-7 in the final period to seal a lopsided 103-66 win.
Anisa Jeffries (180-F-2004, agency: Daggers Sports) was dominant on both ends, finishing with 20 points, 12 rebounds, five assists and six steals on efficient shooting. Destiny Pitts (178-G-1999, college: Texas A&M) added 16 points and seven assists without a turnover, Karina Esquer (170-F-2000) matched her with 16 points on 7-of-11 shooting, and Mariana Valenzuela (188-F-2003) filled the stat sheet with 14 points, three steals and three blocks. Kiyomi McMiller (173-G-2006) was the one bright spot for Nicaragua, putting up a game-high 36 points and nine rebounds, including a pair of scoring bursts that briefly kept the hosts within shouting distance, but she had little help as Mexico's depth took over.
