Cuba stormed past Dominican Republic to open win count in Manati. Cuba built a 37:26 halftime lead. They went on a strong 28:11 run in the final period to ice the victory. Yamara Amargo (179-PF-85, agency: Pro Sports) netted 24 points, while Suchitel Avila (184-F/C-82) added 17 points and 11 rebounds in the victory. Yohanna Morton (172-G-87, college: Robert Morris) replied with 18 points for Dominican Republic.

Mexico - Bahamas 74-52
Mexico defeated Bahamas to record the second victory in Group B. Jacq Luna posted 18 points to lead the charge. Mexico grabbed a 20:8 lead after the opening frame. They triggered a 40:26 second half run to secure the winning outcome. Claudia Ramos (183-C-97) notched 17 points and 8 rebounds for Mexico. Leashia Grant (191-F-94, college: Trinity Valley CC) replied with 19 points and 15 rebounds for Bahamas.

Costa Rica - Puerto Rico 20-113
Puerto Rico crushed Costa Rica to gain the second straight win in Group B. Seven players scored in double digits for the winners. Yolanda Jones (184-F-84, college: La-Lafayette) came up with 17 points to lead the effort. Puerto Rico stunned their opponents with a 33:0 run in the first frame. They never looked back afterwards cruising to the victory. Jennifer O'Neill (165-PG-90, college: Kentucky, agency: Legends Sports) had 14 points for the winners. Sofia Jimenez (173-SF-92) and Monica Malavassi (158-PG-89) chipped in 5 points each for Costa Rica.
