Santa Maria celebrated National League title. They prevailed against Manabi in the championship game. Santa Maria dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Manabi's 34. They outrebounded Manabi 40-29 including 26 on the defensive glass. Manabi was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international point guard Martin Martinez (182-95) who helped to win the game recording 21 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). The former international power forward Nixon Mina (205-90) contributed with 22 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Forward Mairon Cuero (190-89) answered with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 10 rebounds and American guard Vince Toftness (188-97, college: Ecclesia) added 22 points, 8 assists and 6 steals (made all of his nine free throws !!!) in the effort for Manabi. Five Santa Maria and four Manabi players scored in double figures.
