Group A
USA - Guatemala 117-32
The USA breezed past Guatemala in the opener. Seven players scored in double digits for the winners. Chennedy Carter (175-G/F-98) posted 17 points to lead the effort. The USA grabbed a comfortable 64:19 halftime lead. They unloaded 53 points in the second half and marched to an easy victory. Sidney Cooks (193-F-98) delivered 16 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side. Veronica Saucedo (169-C-99) responded with 8 points for Guatemala.

Venezuela - Brazil 50-68
Brazil cruised past Venezuela in the opening game at the tournament for both teams. Lays Da Silva (168-PG-98) and Raphaella Da Silva (186-C-99) posted 17 points each for the winners. Brazil rallied to a 33:23 halftime lead. They followed with a strong 28:10 run in the third term to clear off for good. Licinara Bispo (184-F/C-99) produced 12 points for the winners. Aguehil Fajardo (183-F/C-99) responded with 10 points for Venezuela.

Group B
Chile - Puerto Rico 74-88
Nicolette Oppenheimer (172-G-99) scored 23 points to lead Puerto Rico past Chile in Group B. Puerto Rico dominated early on. They stormed to a 47:28 halftime lead. Puerto Rico boosted the margin at 22-point mark at the final intermission and never looked back en route to the win. Angelique Rodriguez (180-F-99) provided 22 points and 7 rebounds for Puerto Rico. Constanza Antero (169-PG-98) answered with 25 points for Chile.

Mexico - Canada 56-87
Canada earned the first victory in Group B. They stormed past Mexico in Valdivia. Aislinn Konig (175-PG-98, college: CAN NT U16) stepped up with 19 points to lead the North American side. Mexico built a 19:16 lead after ten minutes. Canada however surged ahead in the second term. They secured a 37:31 halftime lead. Canada unloaded 50 points in the second half and rallied to the victory. Hailey Brown (185-F-99, college: CAN NT U16) delivered 12 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Valeria Tapia (164-PG-98) answered with 14 points for Mexico.
