Jasmine Bascoe (167-G-2006) responded with 18 points for Canada. 3-4 PlaceBrazil - Argentina 66-73Argentina stepped onto the pedestal in Colombia. They outlasted Brazil in the consolation final to clinch the third position. Brazil led by 6 points after ten minutes. But Argentina used a 23-15 rally in the second period to surge ahead. They outscored Brazil in the second half to race to the victory. Malena Maggi (186-PF-2006) and Isabella Ingenito (175-F/G-2007) delivered 16 points each for Argentina. Brazil answered with 18 points and 10 rebounds from Alexia Araujo (183-PF-2006). 5-6 PlaceColombia - Puerto Rico 46-57Puerto Rico claimed the fifth position at the championship. They upset Colombia in the final game of the tournament. Puerto Rico established a 29-13 halftime lead. Puerto Rico followed with an 18-15 run in the fourth stanza to seal the win. Dianne Crespo (178-C-2006) produced 13 points for Puerto Rico. Marta Moscarella (180-F-2007) responded with 17 points and 14 rebounds for Colombia. 7-8 PlaceMexico - Dominican Republic 81-55Mexico wrapped up their campaign on a winning note. They defeated Dominican Republic to earn the 7th position. Dominican Republic and Mexico were tied at 27 heading into the second half. But Mexico triggered a 54-28 second half rally to ice the win. Valeria Mora (187-C-2006) came up with 18 points, while Ana Zesati (184-C-2006) added 14 points and 13 rebounds for Mexico. Camela Nunez tossed in 17 points for Dominican Republic. |
