Argentina - Puerto Rico 79-60
Argentina outscored Puerto Rico for the first win at the championship. Sol Castro (186-C-00) notched 14 points and 12 rebounds for the winning side. Argentina recorded a 30:22 halftime advantage. They followed with a 29:15 run in the third term to clear off for good. Florencia Chagas (180-SG-01) had 10 points in the win. Nadechka Reyes (165-PG-00) replied with 13 points for Puerto Rico.

Chile - USA 39-115
USA crushed Chile to gain 2-0 record in Group A. Christyn Williams (180-G/F-00) posted 19 points and 10 rebounds to lead the winners. USA posted a massive 66:21 halftime lead. They cruised to the victory in the second half. Maori Davenport (193-F-00) delivered 17 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Fernanda Ovalle (175-G-03) replied with 11 points for Chile.

Group B

El Salvador - Canada 52-81
Canada coasted past El Salvador for the second consecutive win in Mexico City. Niyah Becker (180-G/F-00) accounted for 15 points and 9 rebounds in the win. Canada accumulated a 46:20 halftime advantage. They boosted the gap at 32-point mark at the final break and coasted to the win afterwards. Roxane Makolo (178-G-00) and Kenya Cote-Lysius (172-SG-01) produced 11 points each for Canada. Kimberly Villalobos (188-C-00) delivered 15 points and 10 rebounds for El Salvador.

Mexico - Colombia 78-88
Colombia upset hosting Mexico for the first win in Group B. Mayra Caicedo (175-PG-00) scored 30 points to lead the effort. Mexico posted a 24:13 lead ten minutes into the game. But Colombia dropped 28 points in the second term to pull within two points. They ignited a 47:35 second half run to rally to the victory. Maria Alvarez (168-SG-01) had 22 points for the winners. Adriana Salinas (181-PF-01) had 22 points and 7 rebounds for Mexico.
