Canada stormed past Dominican Republic to finish group stage undefeated. Canada established a 60-12 halftime lead and never looked back en route to the victory. Kamora Morgan (F-2006) came up with 17 points, while Taliyah Henderson (180-F-2006) added 16 points for the North American team. Anny De Jesus (2006) tossed in 6 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for Dominican Republic. Mexico - USA 20-115 USA registered the third straight win at the tournament as they cruised past Mexico. Joyce Edwards (190-F-2006) posted 17 points to lead the winners. USA held Mexico to just 7 points in the second half to march to the victory. Kayleigh Heckel (175-G-2007) had 15 points for the winners. Ana Zesati (184-C-2006) answered with 8 points for Mexico. Colombia - Argentina 55-59 Argentina topped Colombia to earn the second position in Group A. Colombia led by as many as 13 points at halftime. But Argentina responded with a 37-20 second half rally to secure the win. Malena Maggi (186-PF-2006) provided 18 points, while Nerea Lagowski (195-C-2006) contributed 17 points and 13 rebounds for Argentina. Marta Moscarella (180-F-2007) responded with 24 points and 10 rebounds for Colombia. Brazil - Puerto Rico 59-50 Brazil topped Puerto Rico to finish second in Group B. Brazil eked out a 27-25 halftime lead. They held Puerto Rico to 25 points in the second half to rally to the win. Ayla McDowell (2007) delivered 18 points, while Heloisa Duppre (193-C-2006) had 15 points and 13 rebounds for Brazil. Adriana Robles (171-G-2007) answered with 14 points for Puerto Rico. |
