USA, Canada, Argentina and Brazil advance into semifinal stage

USA - Dominican Republic 125-27
USA cruised past Dominican Republic in the quarterfinal clash. USA dominated from start to finish. They established a 80-10 halftime lead and never looked back en route to the win. Eight players scored in double digits for USA. Leah Macy (188-F-2006) and Joyce Edwards (190-F-2006) posted 14 points each for the winners. Ana Mota (2006) answered with 7 points for Dominican Republic.

Canada - Mexico 66-58
Canada paved their way into the semifinal stage as they topped Mexico. Canada led by 7 points at the first break but Mexico managed to pull within 5 points at halftime 39-34. But Canada limited their opponents to just 24 points in the second half and rallied to the win. Taliyah Henderson (180-F-2006) scored 17 points, while Jasmine Bascoe (167-G-2006) added 16 points for the winners. Mariana Madivil answered with 14 points for Mexico.

Argentina - Puerto Rico 69-58
Argentina held off Puerto Rico to secure the semifinal berth. Argentina used a strong 28-11 rally in the second period to clear off for good. Alma Bourgarel (170-G-2006) posted 16 points, while Isabella Ingenito (175-F/G-2007) added 12 points for Argentina. Adriana Robles (171-G-2007) answered with 15 points for Puerto Rico.

Brazil - Colombia 73-55
Brazil outlasted Colombia to advance into the semifinal stage. Colombia led by two points after ten minutes. But Brazil responded with a strong 24-8 run in the second term to surge ahead for good. Ayla McDowell (2007) recorded 16 points, while Alexia Araujo (183-PF-2006) added 12 points for Brazil. Marta Moscarella (180-F-2007) hauled in 19 points and 11 rebounds for Colombia.
