Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most surprising game was the first loss of Mineros (5-1) in Zacatecas on Wednesday night. Hosts were edged by ninth ranked Freseras (2-4) 86-85. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Mineros. Worth to mention a great performance of American swingman JP Moorman II (201-1998, college: UC Riverside, agency: Players Group) who helped to win the game recording 28 points and 4 assists. His fellow American import guard Harrison Butler (196, college: SUU) contributed with 16 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. American swingman Dexter McClanahan (193-1997, college: Nicholls) answered with 33 points (!!!) and 4 assists for Mineros. Mineros' coach Facundo Muller rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Despite that victory Freseros went down to tenth position due to points difference, which they share with Halc.Xalapa. Mineros at the other side keep the second place with one game lost. They share the position with Diablos. Freseros will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Mineros will play at home against Freseros and are hoping to win this game.
Very important is a road loss of third ranked Dorados (4-2) against fourth ranked Fuerza Regia (4-2) on Wednesday night. Visiting Dorados were defeated by Fuerza Regia in a tough game in Monterrey 68-76. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Dorados. It was a great evening for American swingman Brandon Paul (193-1991, college: Illinois, agency: Pensack Sports) who led his team to a victory scoring 18 points. Scott Bamforth helped adding 18 points. At the losing side American Tyren Johnson (202-1988, college: Louisiana) responded with 17 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Fuerza Regia maintains fourth place with 4-2 record, which they share with defeated Dorados. Fuerza Regia will again play against Dorados (#4) in Chihuahua in the next round. Dorados will have a break next round.
LNBP top team - Soles (6-0) had no problems winning another game on Tuesday. This time they beat sixth ranked Correcaminos (3-4) in Mexicali 94-78. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Correcaminos. It was a quality performance for Connor Zinaich who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 16 rebounds (made all of his nine free throws !!!). Brandon Spearman came up with 18 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists for Correcaminos in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Undefeated Soles have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain first place with 6-0 record. Loser Correcaminos dropped to the seventh position with four games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.

Other games in round 7 were not that significant. El Calor beat Abejas on the road 84-66. Abejas lost to El Calor on its own court 87-95. Gambusinos were outscored by Halc.Xalapa in Xalapa 74-97. Soles rolled over Correcaminos at home 102-74. Santos were defeated by Diablos on the opponent's court 97-92. Astros smashed Panteras in a home game 91-64.
The most impressive performance of 7th round was 14 points and 5 rebounds by Rigoberto Mendoza of Astros.



Abejas - El Calor 66-84

The game between closely ranked teams ended with eleventh ranked El Calor's (3-5) road victory over 12th ranked Abejas (1-5) in Guanajuato 84-66 on Monday. El Calor looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. It was an exceptional evening for Argentinian swingman Martin Fernandez (195-1997) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds. American center Gerard DeVaughn (205-1988, college: Stillman) accounted for 7 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side. DeVaughn is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American center Dakota Quinn (206-1997, college: MNU) came up with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds and American-Dominican guard Quarry Greenaway (193-1994, college: JWU, RI, agency: Daggers Sports) added 14 points respectively for Abejas in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. El Calor moved-up to eighth place. Abejas lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the twelfth position with five games lost. They share it with Panteras and Santos. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.

We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when eighth ranked Halcones UV Xalapa (2-4) rolled over at home 7th ranked Gambusinos (3-3) 97-74 on Wednesday. Halc.Xalapa looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American-Georgian guard Thad McFadden (188-1987, college: Fairmont St.) who led the winners and scored 26 points and 4 assists. The former international point guard Paul Stoll (180-1985) accounted for 19 points and 9 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winning side. Four Halcones UV Xalapa players scored in double figures. American point guard Kwame Vaughn (190-1990, college: CS Fullerton) came up with 16 points and 4 assists and the other American import guard Admon Gilder (193-1995, college: Gonzaga) added 9 points, 5 assists and 4 steals respectively for Gambusinos in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
