The round 12 was rather boring as all games ended with very predictable results. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.
LNBP top team - Soles (10-1) had no problems winning another game on Sunday. This time they crushed thirteenth ranked Freseras (3-9) in Mexicali 88-67. Soles looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Freseros' players. Worth to mention a quality performance of American power forward Justin Moss (203-1993, college: Buffalo) who helped to win the game recording 15 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and the other American import Donald Sims (190-1987, college: App State, agency: Pensack Sports) who added 13 points and 4 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was American-Puerto Rican center Antonio Gordon (206-2001, college: Oklah.Christian) with 17 points and 6 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Soles have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 10-1 record. Freseros lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the twelfth place with nine games lost. They share the position with Correcaminos. Soles will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Freseros will play at home against Astros (#5) and are hoping to prove to their fans that they can break losing series.
9th ranked Halcones UV Xalapa (4-8) was outscored at home by fifth ranked Diablos (9-3) with the biggest margin this round 93-64. The winners were led by American guard Daishon Smith (185-1995, college: ULM) who scored that evening 20 points and 4 assists and Michael Carrera supported him with 15 points and 7 rebounds. Even 16 points by the former international Gabriel Giron (192-1988) did not help to save the game for Halc.Xalapa. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Diablos moved-up to second place, which they share with Fuerza Regia and Mineros. Halc.Xalapa at the other side keeps the ninth position with eight games lost. They share it with El Calor. Diablos will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Halc.Xalapa will play on the road against Correcaminos (#12) in Ciudad Victoria and hopes to get back on the winning track.
There were no shocking results in the other games in round 12: Gambusinos were destroyed by Fuerza Regia on the opponent's court 99-79. Astros managed to outperform El Calor in a home game 95-85. Bottom-ranked Santos recorded a loss to Mineros on the road 84-66. Panteras crushed Correcaminos on its own court 95-73. Dorados beat Abejas in Chihuahua 78-69. Abejas lost to Dorados at home 74-83.
