Undefeated Leones (11-1) recorded its first loss in Jinotega. Visitors were defeated by fourth ranked Brumas (11-1) 84-78. It ended at the same time the 11-game winning streak of Leones. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Real Esteli. They maintain sixth place with 9-2 record. Nicaragua U16 lost their twelfth game in a row. They still close the standings with 12 games lost. Tipitapa - Mineros 78-83

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Managua where 10th ranked Tipitapa (5-7) was defeated by eleventh ranked Mineros (7-6) 83-78 on Sunday. Mineros forced 22 Tipitapa turnovers and had a 22-11 advantage in offensive rebounds. Jose Mccurbia fired a double-double by scoring 25 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. The former international guard Armando Martinez (190-1988) chipped in 18 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals. Oscar Ramirez (175) produced 23 points and Alejandro Tenorio added 18 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Strangely Pescadores outrebounded Americas 2 59-43 including 18 on the offensive glass. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Americas 2 made 9 blocks. The former international forward Troy Andrews (196-2000) fired a double-double by scoring 20 points, 19 rebounds and 7 blocks for the winners. Johan Porras chipped in 15 points and 5 rebounds. Americas 2's coach used entire bench in such tough game.
