Medellin welcomed the start of the South American U18 Championship. The tournament has been enjoying two days packed in action.
Argentina, Chile and Uruguay went victorious in the openers. Argentina prevailed against Venezuela 84:76. Juan Giaveno (175-G-92) and Ezequiel Diaz knocked down 16 points each to pace the charge. Anthony Perez (F-93) responded with 16 points for Venezuela.
Uruguay needed an overtime to prevail against Brazil 75:68. Mathias Calfani (199-C-92) fired 25 points, while Alex Alvarez added 23 points for the winners. Arthur Casimiro responded with 10 points and 14 boards for Brazil.
Chile overcame hosting Colombia 76:65 behind 22 points from Franco Morales. Felipe Acuna (182-G-92) was responsible for 19 points in the win.
Uruguay continued their winning streak as they toppled Argentina 71:54 on Day 2 of the tournament. Alex Alvarez fired 24 points to lead the charge. Mathias Calfani accounted for 15 points in the victory.
Chile also posted the second straight win as they held off Brazil 60:57. Felipe Acuna had 17 points in the victory.
Venezuela recorded their first victory as they rolled past Colombia 59:49. Anthony Perez nailed 17 points for the winners.
