Group A
Ecuador - Venezuela 67-74
Venezuela posts the second win in Salto at the U17 South American Championship. Venezuela overcame Ecuador 74:67 for 2-0 record. Ecuador meanwhile suffered their second loss and dropped at 0-2 record. Venezuela started the game with 22:12 lead, but Ecuador was too far to give up. They replied with a similar 23-13 rally and tied the game at the halftime. Ecuador also won the third period 14-13, but could not win the game. Venezuela needed a strong last period to seal the second victory at the tournament. Jose Sojo top-scored for the winners with 23 points and Torres Salvador nailed 13. Medina Jose delivered 12, whilst Angel Blanco had 10. Cobena Erick answered with 20 points and Alexander Guerra collected 16 points and 14 rebounds. Joe Quinones had 10 points and 10 boards in a loss.

Colombia - Brazil 75-76
Brazil grabbed 76:75 win over Colombia in Day 2 of the U17 South American Championship. Brazil improved to 2-0 record in Group A, while Colombia fell at 0-1 record. Colombia started strong and grabbed 17:16 lead at the end of the first period. Brazil replied with a 17-15 rally in the second frame as Dos Santos gave Brazil 33:32 halftime advantage. Brazil managed to increase the lead to 6 points midway through the third period, while Colombia reduced to 50:48. Again Brazil had 6-point lead with less than 2 minutes to go, however Yildon Mendoza gave Colombia 75:74 lead. George de Paula (191-F) scored two free throws for Brazil at the very end for the final 1-point win. Wesley da Silva top-scored for the winners with 21 points and George de Paula had 17. Duval Junior ended up with 13 points and Costa Pablo scored 7. Yildon Mendoza replied with massive 28 points and Atencia Hansel notched 12. Andre Ibarguen collected 11 points and 15 rebounds, whilst Cristian Castano scored 10.

Group B
Argentina - Peru 82-34
Argentina beat Peru in Day 2 of the U17 South American Championship. Argentina opened the campaign with an 82:34 win. Argentina erupted with a 22-6 lead in the first period and added 19-16 rally in the second period. Moreover the favorites dominated the second half and posted two comfortable victories. Argentine won the third period 17-4 and finished the game with a 24-8 surge. Juan Pablo Vaulet (198-PF-96) top-scored for the winners with 15 points and 11 rebounds, while Lucio Delfino (197-PF-97) had 15. Marziali Mateo and Vildoza Jose poured in 9 each. YANEZ ended up with 9 points in defeat and BRUCE as well as GOICOCHEA had 6 apiece. LUQUE followed them with 5 points in a loss. Tomorrow Argentina will take on Uruguay.
