Argentina clinch the title in Salto at the U17 South American Championship. The favorites overcame the hosts in the Final game 92:53 and became the winner of the campaign. Uruguay ended up on the second place at the home tourney. Argentina opened the game with 22-11 rally and led 7 points at the halftime. The second half fully belonged to the winners as they erupted with two massive victories in the third and the last quarters. Argentina overcame Uruguay 21-12 in the third period and added 34-11 surge in the last stanza. Jose Vildoza (190-G-96) top-scored for the winners with 23 points and Arengo Juan nailed 20. Gomez Martin poured in 19, whilst Diego Pena (194-PF-96) had 7. Grolla Facundo ended up with 18 points and 10 rebounds and Medina Octavio had 13. Martin Counago (186-PG-97) poured in 8, while Pereira Santiago scored 7.

Colombia - Brazil 56-94
Brazil celebrate Bronze in Salto at the U17 South American Championship. They needed a 94:56 win over Colombia to finish third. Both teams played their first game against each other in a group stage and faced last night again in the last clash. Brazil proved their ambitions for the third place from the very beginning and started with 20:14 lead. Moreover Brazil added 24-11 rally in the second frame and had 44:25 halftime advantage. The second half also belonged to the Brazilian side that posted two victories. They won the third period 25-17 and finished the game with 24-14. Junior Duval (185-G-96) stepped up with 18 points for the winners and Wesley da Silva (208-C-96) netted 17. Costa Pablo produced 13, whilst Colimerio Lucas collected 11 points and 12 rebounds. Yildon Mendoza (97) answered with 21 points and 12 rebounds in defeat and Atencia Hansel notched 12. Castano Cristian produced 7 points, while Rivera Yoice put up 5.

Venezuela - Ecuador 84-61
Venezuela beat Ecuador in the last game of their U17 South American Championship campaign. Venezuela posted an 84:61 win to finish on the 5th spot. Venezuela started with a 19-6 surge and never looked behind after. They posted a 24-12 rally in the second frame and enjoyed a 43:18 halftime advantage. Ecuador woke up in the second half and managed to be a decent representative on the court. Ecuador won the third period 23-18, but lost the last quarter 20-23. Jose Sojo (96) stepped up with 19 points in the winning effort. Torres Salvador scored 14, while Martinez Diego poured in 11. Luis Bahamonde (96) finished the game with 18 points in defeat and Guerra Alexander nailed 17. Erick Cobena (97) brought 14 and Quinones Joe collected 7 points and 11 boards.
7-8 Place
Paraguay - Peru 61-96
Peru overcame Paraguay for the 7th position at the U17 South American Championship. Peru clinched a 96:61 win in the last game of their campaign and sent Paraguay to the 8th spot. Peru took 21:13 lead at the end of the first period and never looked behind after. Peru also posted a 27-16 rally in the second frame and had 48:29 halftime advantage. Moreover the last two quarters also belonged to the winning side. Peru won the third period 33-20 and finished the game with 15-12 run. Hernen Goicochea (98) stepped up with 25 points for the winners and Sebastian Luque (96) collected 13 points and 18 rebounds. Sambucetti Bruno and Ramirez Cristian scored 12 points in a win. Leguizamon Elias replied with 14 points in defeat and Marco De Felice (97) had 13. Marecos Ricardo brought 11, whilst Gonzalez Emmanuel and Mereles Mario netted 6 each.
