Argentina - Uruguay 68-54
Argentina held off Uruguay to gain the third straight victory in Group A. Santiago Vaulet (185-G-98) stepped up with solid 24 points and 17 rebounds for the hosts. Uruguay jumped to an 18:9 lead after the opening frame. But Argentina responded with a 22:11 run in the second period to take a 31:29 halftime lead. Argentina followed with a strong 23:9 run in the fourth quarter to take the win. Facundo Corvalan (186-G-98) tossed in 10 points for the winners. Martin Rojas (196-PF-98) responded with 18 points and 15 rebounds for Uruguay.
Chile - Ecuador 69-53
Chile edged Ecuador to finish second in Group A. Nicolas Aguirre (176-PG-97) stepped up with 19 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists to pace the winners. Ecuador accounted for a 35:32 halftime lead. Chile however turned things around in the second half. They held Ecuador to just 18 points in the second half and rallied to the victory. Felipe Haase (201-F-98) delivered 12 points for the winners. Jordan Cardenas responded with 17 points and 13 rebounds for Ecuador.
Group B
Brazil - Colombia 87-69
Brazil remained perfect in Chaco. They toppled Colombia for the fourth consecutive victory in Group B. Aquiles Ferreira (194-F/G-98) banked in 23 points for the winners. Brazil accumulated a 36:26 halftime lead. They unleashed 51 points in the second half and cruised to the victory. Tiago Fioravanti (190-G) posted 14 points for the winners. Romario Roque responded with 26 points, 10 rebounds and 6 steals for Colombia.
Paraguay - Peru 90-72
Paraguay held off Peru for 3-1 record in the second position in Group B. Jorge Martinez (98) delivered 25 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Paraguay dominated in the first half. They registered a 39:21 halftime lead. Paraguay dropped 51 points in the second half and raced to the win. Rodney Mercado accounted for 16 points and 13 rebounds in the victory. Juan Venegas responded with 35 points for Peru.
