Argentina conquered Gold medals at the U17 South American Championship. They overcame Brazil in the title clash in Chaco. Santiago Vaulet (185-G-98) stepped up with 18 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side. Argentina set the tone early in the game. They posted a 43:22 halftime lead. Argentina held their opponents to just 7 points in the fourth quarter and raced to the victory. Matias Solanas (192-G-98) delivered 14 points for the winners. Rafael Munford (192-G/F-98) responded with 11 points for Brazil.

Chile - Paraguay 69-56
Chile stepped on the podium in Chaco. They beat Paraguay to conquer the third position at the tournament. Nicolas Aguirre (176-PG-97) stepped up with 24 points and 6 rebounds to pace the winners. Chile accumulated a 26:21 halftime lead. Paraguay denied the deficit in the third term. But Chile fired 27 points in the fourth period and cruised to the victory. Felipe Haase (201-F-98) netted 14 points and grabbed 17 rebounds for the winners. Jorge Martinez (98) responded with 16 points and 10 rebounds for Paraguay.

Uruguay - Venezuela 70-74 OT
Venezuela edged Uruguay in overtime to finish in the fifth position. Jose Bracho (SG) and Luis Llamos (F) recorded 17 points each to lead the charge. Uruguay jumped to an 18:13 lead after ten minutes. But Venezuela quickly bounced back. They leveled things up at 28 at halftime. The teams traded baskets throughout the second half. The winners had to be decided in overtime. Venezuela held Uruguay to just 6 points in the extra period and snatched a tough win. Miguel Perez (PF) provided 11 points for the winners. Martin Rojas (196-PF-98) responded with 15 points and 10 rebounds for Uruguay.
7-8 Place
Colombia - Ecuador 72-63
Colombia wrapped up their South American U17 campaign on a winning note. They nipped Ecuador to occupy the 7th overall position. Romario Roque came up with 27 points and 11 rebounds to pace the winning side. The teams were tied at 26 after the first half. However Colombia poured in 46 points in the second half and marched to the victory. Soren De Luque delivered 17 points and 15 rebounds for the winners. Francisco Bedoya responded with 17 points and 8 rebounds for Ecuador.
