Argentina claimed the third straight win in Group A. They held off Colombia to stay unbeaten. Argentina sank 45 points in the second half to race to the victory. Joaquin Caumo (180-G-2008) posted 24 points, while Santiago Pettinaroli (200-F-2008) added 21 points for the winners. Matthew Bernal (189-F-2009) answered with 21 points for Colombia. Paraguay - Brazil 47-117 Brazil earned the third straight victory in Asuncion as they cruised past Paraguay. Brazil recorded a 64-18 halftime lead and cruised to the victory in the second half. Isaiah Santos came up with 18 points, while Pietro Melo (185-G-2008) and Joao Fernandes (199-F-2008) scored 16 points each for the winning side. Roberto Radice (183-G-2008) tossed in 12 points for Paraguay. Chile - Venezuela 64-83 Venezuela outscored Chile to earn the second place in Group B. Venezuela accumulated a 44-24 halftime lead and never looked back en route to the win. Jose Lara (198-F-2008) stepped up with 17 points, while Deiker Torres (183-PG-2010) banked in 16 points for Venezuela. Francisco Saravia (175-G-2008) delivered 22 points for Chile. Uruguay - Ecuador 81-58 Uruguay fired past Ecuador to ensure the semifinal berth. Uruguay piled up a 42-21 halftime lead. They kept Ecuador at bay throughout the second half and raced to the win. Tomas Abal (182-G-2008) and Manuel Pastrana (185-G-2009) accounted for 17 points each for the winners. Adair Quinonez (198-C-2009) responded with 12 points for Ecuador. |
