Brazil conquered the Gold in Asuncion. They beat Argentina to celebrate the trophy. Brazil dominated throughout the game. They established a 51-31 halftime lead. They drained 28 points in the fourth frame to race to the title. Pedro Souza (192-G/F-2008) finished with 24 points, while Pietro Melo (185-G-2008) added 18 points and 7 assists for the champions. Joaquin Celiz (195-G-2008) responded with 23 points for Argentina.
3-4 Place
Venezuela - Uruguay 85-68
Venezuela stepped onto the podium in Asuncion as they rallied past Uruguay for the third-place finish. Venezuela accumulated a 49-39 halftime lead. Uruguay narrowed the deficit in the third term but Venezuela unloaded 26 points in the fourth stanza and rallied to the victory. Williams Anillo (180-SG-2009) scored 19 points, while Jose Lara (198-F-2008) added 17 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Nicolas Testa (195-F/G-2008) answered with 22 points for Uruguay.

5-6 Place
Paraguay - Chile 76-74
Paraguay defeated Chile to claim the 5th place in the championship. Alejandro Talavera (183-G-2008) scored 22 points, while Roberto Radice (183-G-2008) produced 17 points to pace the winners. Paraguay recorded a 39-31 halftime lead. The hosts denied the deficit as Francisco Saravia (175-G-2008) tied things up at 74 with just over a minute left. But Mauricio Escurra (187-F-2008) converted a go-ahead layup as Paraguay got away with the win. Francisco Saravia came up with 30 points for Chile.

7-8 Place
Colombia - Ecuador 62-71
Ecuador occupied the 7th spot at the championship. They wrapped up their campaign with a comfortable win over Colombia. Ecuador recorded a 25-10 lead after ten minutes. They extended the margin at 16-point mark heading into the fourth frame and cruised to the win. Juan Castillo (177-G-2009) scored 18 points, while Adair Quinonez (198-C-2009) added 12 points for Ecuador. Leonardo Restrepo (193-G-2008) answered with 24 points for Colombia.
