The most exciting game of round 5 in the LUB took place in Montevideo. Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Montevideo: Trouville (#6) and Malvin (#2). Trouville (3-2) won against visiting Malvin (3-2) 108-103. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Malvin. American forward Josh Price (205-1996, college: S.Indiana) orchestrated the victory by scoring 23 points and 9 rebounds. Gianfranco Espindola contributed with 24 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. American swingman Anthony Hilliard (195-1986, college: ECSU) answered with 27 points for Malvin. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Trouville moved-up to third place, which they share with 4 other teams including defeated Malvin. Defensor can celebrate their first win this season after three consecutive losses. The victory is especially important as they defeated much higher ranked L.Borges (2-3) 91-77 on Friday. Shane Gibson stepped up and scored 26 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Ricardo Glenn responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Defensor (1-3) left bottom position moving up to tenth place, which they share with Urupan. L.Borges at the other side dropped to the ninth position with three games lost.
