Malvin - Bigua 93-85 The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Bigua (12-4) in Montevideo on Tuesday night. Visitors were defeated by ninth ranked Malvin (9-10) 93-85. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Bigua. Malvin looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. It was a great evening for American Daniel Hamilton (201-1995, college: UConn) who led his team to a victory scoring 28 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. U.S. Virgin Islands-Puerto Rican forward Ivan Aska (201-1990, college: Murray St., agency: 011 Sports) helped adding 26 points and 5 assists. At the losing side Brazilian center Luis Santos (194-1994) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds (perfect from the field making all nine shots !!!) and American Donald Sims (190-1987, college: App State, agency: Pensack Sports) scored 20 points and 6 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Bigua's coach Diego Cal rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Malvin moved-up to eighth place. Nacional players were unselfish on offense dishing 28 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Hebraica's players. It was an exceptional evening for point guard Alejandro Acosta (189-1989) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 7 rebounds and 12 assists. American center Gary McGhee (210-1988, college: Pittsburgh, agency: Inception Sports) accounted for 13 points and 14 rebounds for the winning side. American-Dominican guard Adonys Henriquez (201-1994, college: St.Louis) came up with 28 points and 6 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws) and American power forward Franklin Hassell (203-1988, college: ODU) added 18 points and 15 rebounds respectively for Hebraica in the defeat.
