There are only two more rounds left in the Second Stage in Metropolitan. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Urunday (16-4) on the court of third ranked Tabare on Thursday night. Visitors were edged by Tabare 82-79. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Urunday. Forward Octavio Medina (195-1996) stepped up and scored 28 points for the winners and point guard Martin Perdomo (178-1995) chipped in 10 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Tabare's coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American Tyrone Lee (203-1990, college: GVSU) responded with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 11 rebounds (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!). Tabare maintains third place with 13-7 record having just two point less than leader Urunday. Urunday at the other side still keeps top position with four games lost. Tabare are looking forward to face Larranaga (#7) in Montevideo in the next round. Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Montevideo: Atenas (#8) and Larranaga (#7). Atenas (9-11) crushed visiting Larranaga (11-9) by 34 points 94-60. Guard Felipe Silveira (187-2001) nailed 21 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side and Joaquin Rodriguez accounted for 17 points and 4 assists. Naturalized Italian Nicolas Borsellino (202-1986, agency: Pro Sports) came up with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds for Larranaga in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Atenas maintains eighth place with 9-11 record. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Capitol. The best player for the winners was Ricardo Glenn who had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). Mateo Giano produced 18 points and 9 assists for the guests. Olimpia maintains second place with 14-6 record having just three point less than leader Urunday. Loser Capitol keeps the fifth position with nine games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. There were no shocking results in the rest of the games of round 5: Stockolmo lost to 25 de Agosto on the opponent's court 70-77. Colon unfortunately lost to Lagomar in a home game 56-64. O.Mundial was rolled over U.Atletica on the road 73-100. Verdirrojo was defeated by Miramar on its own court 76-92. Sayago was smashed by Welcome in Montevideo 85-63.

There was a minor upset in Montevideo where 9th ranked Stockolmo (10-10) was defeated by twelfth ranked 25 de Agosto (10-10) 77-70 on Wednesday. 25 de Agosto made 20-of-25 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. 25 de Agosto outrebounded Stockolmo 53-32 including a 16-2 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American Desmond Holloway (194-1990, college: Coastal, agency: Interperformances) who had a double-double by scoring 27 points and 10 rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 53.8 percentage. U.Atletica looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists.
