Yale (6-1) recorded its first loss in Montevideo on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by fifth ranked Lagomar (4-2) 61-55. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Yale. Lagomar forced 22 Yale turnovers. Belen Moreira (-1999) fired a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. Paraguayan forward Natalia Quevedo (170-1998) chipped in 17 points and 7 rebounds. Forward Lara Barbato (181-2004) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds for lost side. Yale's coach Gino Alderete rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Lagomar moved-up to fourth place. Yale at the other side still keeps top position with one game lost. They share it with D.Sporting.
Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Montevideo: Malvin (#3) and 25 de Agosto (#5). Malvin (5-1) crushed visiting 25 de Agosto (3-4) by 26 points 57-31. Worth to mention a great performance of Argentinian forward Carla Miculka (174-1993) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points and 20 rebounds. Joaquina Gregorio contributed with 15 points for the winners. Argentinian swingman Rocio Sagardoy (176-2000) answered with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 15 rebounds for 25 de Agosto. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Malvin have a solid series of three victories in a row. Bottom-ranked Cordon (0-6) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 65-40 loss to seventh ranked Urunday (3-3) in Montevideo on Sunday evening. It was a great evening for Melina Marcial who led her team to a victory scoring 15 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals. At the losing side Milagros Rivero responded with 18 points and 8 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Urunday moved-up to sixth place. Newly promoted Cordon still closes the standings with six games lost.
In the last two games of round 7 D.Sporting crushed Juventud in Montevideo 94-65. Aguada smashed Tabare at home 94-46.
