The biggest surprise of round 11 was guest Nacional's (#2) road victory over Aguada (#3) 98-94 on Saturday evening. Nacional looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. The best player for the winners was American-Dominican center James Feldeine (193-1988, college: Quinnipiac) who scored 29 points and 6 assists. Panamanian power forward Ernesto Oglivie (203-1989) chipped in 19 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. point guard Juan Santiso (185-1994) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 assists for the hosts. Aguada's coach German Cortizas rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Defending champion maintains second place with 21-10 record having just eight point less than leader Penarol. Aguada lost third consecutive game. They keep the third position with 11 games lost. Nacional's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Montevideo Defensor.
Fifth-ranked Hebraica (16-15) made lots of trouble for second ranked Nacional (21-10) in Montevideo. Nacional managed to secure only two-point victory 81-79. However their fans expected easier game. Hebraica's coach Leonardo Zylberstein tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Defending champion maintains second place with 21-10 record having just eight point less than leader Penarol. Hebraica at the other side keeps the fifth position with 15 games lost. Nacional's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Montevideo Defensor.

It was a great evening for Nestor Colmenares who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 10 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. Defensor's coach Gonzalo Brea Rey felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Earl Clark responded with 21 points and 6 rebounds. Defensor maintains sixth place with 15-16 record. Aguada lost third consecutive game. They keep the third position with 11 games lost. Defensor's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Montevideo to the arena Nacional.

In the last game of round 11 Malvin was crushed by Penarol in Montevideo 96-68.

Defensor - Aguada 88-60

Another exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Montevideo: Defensor (#6) and Aguada (#3). Defensor (15-16) crushed visiting Aguada (20-11) by 28 points 88-60. Defensor dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Aguada's 34 and made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. Defensor looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. It was a great evening for Venezuelan center Nestor Colmenares (200-1987, college: Campbellsville) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 10 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. American Victor Rudd (206-1991, college: S.Florida) helped adding 17 points and 5 rebounds. Four Defensor players scored in double figures. Defensor's coach Gonzalo Brea Rey felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Penarol - Malvin 96-68

There was no surprise in Montevideo where 4th placed Malvin (18-13) was crushed by first ranked Penarol (25-6) 96-68 on Tuesday. Penarol outrebounded Malvin 36-25 including 29 on the defensive glass. Penarol shot the lights out from three sinking 16 long-distance shots on high 51.6 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. It was a great evening for American guard Skyler Hogan (196-1997, college: SEMO) who led his team to a victory scoring 23 points and 4 assists (perfect from the field making all eight shots !!!). Guard Santiago Vescovi (191-2001, college: Tennessee) helped adding 13 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Penarol players scored in double figures. American guard Carlton Guyton (190-1990, college: Kent St.) responded with 18 points and 4 assists and guard Santiago Fernandez (186-2000) scored 13 points and 6 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Penarol have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain first place with 25-6 record. Loser Malvin keeps the fourth position with 13 games lost. Penarol's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Montevideo Hebraica.
