Gladiadores - Marinos 100-89 The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Gladiadores as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Gladiadores defeated 4th placed Marinos in Caracas 100-89. 29 personal fouls committed by Marinos helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American forward Cleanthony Early (203-1991, college: Wichita St.) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 28 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and his fellow American import guard Sheldon Mac (196-1992, college: Miami, FL, agency: Slash Sports) chipped in 36 points (!!!) and 4 steals. Greek swingman Kostas Vasileiadis (200-1984) responded with 30 points and 6 assists and American center Ronald Delph (213-1993, college: FAU) scored 16 points and 7 rebounds. Four Marinos players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Marinos at the other side keep the fourth place with 11 games lost. Marinos will play next round against Cangrejeros trying to get back on the winning streak. Gladiadores will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Supersonicos made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was American-Nigerian swingman Tanksley Efianayi (198-1994, college: UCF) who had a double-double by scoring 32 points, 15 rebounds and 9 assists (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). Argentinian point guard Leandro Vildoza (180-1994) chipped in 16 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. American guard Melvin Johnson (193-1993, college: VCU) produced 21 points and 6 assists and the other American import forward Anthony Young (200-1989, college: KWC) added 19 points respectively for the guests. The best player for the winners was American Musa Abdul-Aleem (196-1988, college: Troy) who scored 20 points. Point guard Raymond Roca (192-2000) chipped in 13 points and 8 rebounds. Broncos' coach Manuel Berroteran used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. American point guard Keron DeShields (190-1992, college: Tennessee St., agency: BIG) produced 16 points and 9 assists and swingman Kevin Nino (195-1991) added 15 points and 4 assists respectively for the guests. Four Heroes players scored in double figures. Broncos maintains second place with 13-8 record having just five point less than leader Centauros. Loser Heroes keep the fourth position with nine games lost. Broncos' supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Caracas .
