El Salvador improved to 2-0 record at COCABA Championship for Women. The hosts of the tournament posted a 71:57 win over
Costa Rica in Day 2. Costa Rica meanwhile fell at 0-2 record and will take on Honduras in the last game of the tournament.
El Salvador opened the game with 14-13 lead and added 16-13 run before the halftime. El Salvador managed also to win both quarters in the second half as they reached final 14-point advantage. The hosts won the third period 22-15 and finished the game with 19-16 run.
MARTINEZ Argueta stepped up with 20 points and ESCOBAR MORAN collected 16 points and 15 rebounds. CALDERON APARICIO had 13, whilst SOSA QUINTANILLA netted 8. GALVEZ MORALES finished the game with 14 points in defeat and VARGAS PEREZ nailed 13. MATAMOROS SOLIS produced 6 points and 12 rebounds, while MALAVASSI ALVAREZ had 5.

Mexico outscore Honduras in Day 2 of COCABA Championship for Women in San Salvador. Mexico improved to 2-0 record after an 89:56 win.
Mexico won the first period 27-16 and added 15-8 rally in the second frame. The favorites managed to seal the victory also in the second half as they won another two quarters. Mexico posted a 28-20 run in the third period and finished the game with 20-11 run.
OROZCO GOLLAZ top-scored for the winners with 14 points and MORALES CASTRO,Abril Garcia (188-F/C-80, college: ORU) 13 and Brisa Silva (170-G-84, college: Oklahoma St.) had 13 each. BIBBS MORENO and GUARDIOLA SUBEALDEA followed them with 9 points each. MARTINEZ BENEDITH produced 15 points in the losing effort and JACKSON GARBOTT poured in 14.
