2022 COCABA: Mexico fire past Costa Rica, claim Gold in Chihuahua

Mexico earned the Gold medals at the 2022 COCABA Championship. They finished their campaign with a comfortable win over Costa Rica to improve at 5-0 record atop of the standings.
Mexico recorded a 22-16 lead ten minutes into the game. They sank 24 points in the second term to take a 14-point halftime lead. Mexico went on a 28-9 run in the third term to clear off for good. Gladys Avila (177-F-1994, agency: Jones Sports International) posted 22 points, while Jacqueline Luna-Castro (188-F-1993, college: Charleston) tossed in 12 points and grabbed 9 rebounds for the winners. Daniela Quesada (168-G-1997) answered with 16 points for Costa Rica.
