El Salvador have won Central American Championship 2023. They edged Guatemala 68-47 to finish with a perfect 5-0 record. Guatemala meanwhile suffered the first loss and finished second with a 4-1 record. El Salvador grabbed a 15-9 lead and had a 5-point advantage at the halftime. Moreover, they posted a 23-16 and 17-10 rallies in the second half to seal the trophy.
Destiny Campbell (185-F-1996, college: ECU) top-scored for the winners with 27 points and was named MVP of the tournament. Hillary Martinez (172-SF-1997) followed her with 18 points. Natalie Larranaga (175-G-2002) replied with 20 points in a loss and Emily Rosales (178-F-1994) notched 15.
