Colo Colo - Liceo Curico 93-73 Rather expected game in Santiago where 5th ranked Liceo Curico (2-8) was crushed by second ranked Colo Colo (8-2) 93-73 on Saturday. Colo Colo outrebounded Liceo Curico 52-32 including a 38-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. Forward Lucas Thiebaut (-1999) fired a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. The former international guard Eduardo Sepulveda (186-1986) chipped in 20 points. Four Colo Colo players scored in double figures. The former international Mohunir Zerene (187-1994) produced 27 points and Venezuelan Keinder Albarran added 26 points respectively for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Colo Colo maintains second place with 8-2 record having just two points less than leader Liceo PN. This time they crushed sixth ranked Tomas L. (2-8) in Temuco 79-53. Liceo PN dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Tomas L.'s 36. Liceo PN forced 22 Tomas L. turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The former international point guard Franco Morales (181-1992) fired a double-double by scoring 12 points, 9 rebounds and 17 assists for the winners. Forward Carlos Iglesias (-1998) chipped in 9 points and 8 rebounds. Liceo PN's coach felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Truenos. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Sergio Ceppi. Municipal C. at the other side keeps the fourth position with six games lost. They share it with Stadio Italiano.
