LNB2 Round 13: Stadio Italiano loses to Sportiva Italiana in the game between Top 4 teams

There will be only one (last) round of the Regular Season in LNB 2. Host teams show no mercy winning all games. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The game between Top Four teams took place in Valparaiso. Leader host Sportiva Italiana (10-0) smashed 4th placed Stadio Italiano (5-6) 108-62. Sportiva Italiana dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Stadio Italiano's 32 and made 27-of-34 free shots (79.4 percent) during the game. Sportiva Italiana forced 23 Stadio Italiano turnovers and outrebounded them 45-32 including 32 on the defensive glass. 28 personal fouls committed by Stadio Italiano helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The former international Sebastian Suarez (193-1991, college: Portland St.) stepped up and scored 24 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists (made all of his nine free throws !!!) for the winners and Gaspar Hernandez (-1999) chipped in 31 points and 5 rebounds. At the losing side the former international Ramiro Galvez (-1996) responded with 15 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Undefeated Sportiva Italiana have an impressive series of ten victories in a row. They maintain first place with 10-0 record. Center Marko Castro (192-1988) came up with 21 points for Municipal C. in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Truenos. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Sergio Ceppi. Municipal C. at the other side keeps the fourth position with six games lost. They share it with Stadio Italiano. Truenos will play against Tomas L. (#6) in San Fernando in the next round. Municipal C. will play at home against the league's second-placed Colo Colo and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
LNB 2 top team - Liceo PN (12-0) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed sixth ranked Tomas L. (2-8) in Temuco 79-53. Franco Morales fired a double-double by scoring 12 points, 9 rebounds and 17 assists for the winners. Liceo PN's coach felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Felipe Serey produced 18 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for lost side. The victory was the twelfth consecutive win for Liceo PN. They maintain first place with 12-0 record. Loser Tomas L. dropped to the fifth position with eight games lost. They share it with Liceo Curico. Liceo PN will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Tomas L. will play against Truenos (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

There were no shocking results in the rest of the games of round 13: Liceo Curico were destroyed by Colo Colo on the opponent's court 93-73. Arabe de Valp. managed to outperform Boston College in a home game 69-61. Brisas was rolled over Luis Matte on the road 61-35.

Colo Colo - Liceo Curico 93-73

Rather expected game in Santiago where 5th ranked Liceo Curico (2-8) was crushed by second ranked Colo Colo (8-2) 93-73 on Saturday. Colo Colo outrebounded Liceo Curico 52-32 including a 38-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. Forward Lucas Thiebaut (-1999) fired a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. The former international guard Eduardo Sepulveda (186-1986) chipped in 20 points. Four Colo Colo players scored in double figures. The former international Mohunir Zerene (187-1994) produced 27 points and Venezuelan Keinder Albarran added 26 points respectively for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Colo Colo maintains second place with 8-2 record having just two points less than leader Liceo PN. Forward Nicolas Vargas (-2001) fired 24 points for the winners. Pedro Soares chipped in 11 points and 6 rebounds. Point guard Cristobal Ordonez (195-2004) produced 26 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals and Lucas Marquez (196) added 18 points and 9 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Arabe de Valp. moved-up to third place. Loser Boston College keeps the sixth position with eight games lost. Arabe de Valp. will meet at home league's second-placed Sergio Ceppi in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Guard Ivan Pacheco (-1994) fired 15 points and 4 assists for the winners. Guard Leonel Duhalde (-1990) chipped in 11 points and 7 assists. Guard Felipe Oyarzun (187-1989) produced 10 points and 5 rebounds and power forward Sascha Frings (202-1986) added 6 points respectively for lost side.
