USA celebrated Gold in Formosa. They beat Canada in the championship game. Vernon Carey (204-C-01) banked in 19 points to pace the winners. USA dominated from start to finish. They grabbed a comfortable 49:24 halftime lead. USA unleashed 62 points in the second half to cruise to the victory. DeVion Harmon, Jeremy Roach (186-G-01) and Jalen Green (196-G-02) delivered 13 points each for the winners. Luka Sakota (185-PG-01) responded with 17 points for Canada.
3-4 Place
Puerto Rico - Argentina 78-67
Puerto Rico claimed the third position at the championship. They outgunned hosting Argentina to step onto the pedestal. Andre Curbelo (185-PG-01) posted 23 points and 6 steals to lead the charge. Puerto Rico piled up a comfortable 44:28 halftime lead. Argentina narrowed the deficit in the second half but could not avoid the loss. Victor Rosa (195-SF-01) provided 19 points in the win. Bautista Lugarini (199-F-01) responded with 18 points for Argentina.

5-6 Place
Mexico - Dominican Republic 51-71
Dominican Republic finished fifth at the tournament. They wrapped up their campaign with a comfortable win over Mexico. David Jones (193-F/G-01) delivered 22 points and 10 rebounds in the win. Dominican Republic piled up a 37:24 halftime lead. They poured in 34 points in the second half to ice the win. Jean Montero (185-G-03) tossed in 15 points in the victory. Ivan Cruz (187-PF-01) responded with 17 points for Mexico.

7-8 Place
Paraguay - Venezuela 49-53
Venezuela finished their campaign in Formosa on a high note. They beat Paraguay to end up in the seventh place. Enderson Alcala (191-C-01) tallied 18 points and 10 rebounds to lead the winners. Paraguay posted a 28:21 halftime lead. However Venezuela bounced back with a 16:4 rally in the fourth frame to seal the victory. Jose Meneses (180-G-01) chipped in 17 points for the winners. Jose Barreto (185-F-01) responded with 20 points for Paraguay.


Canada and USA enter Final - Jun 18, 2017

SEMIFINALS
USA - Argentina 121-49
USA breezed past Argentina en route to the championship game. Scott Barnes (200-SG-01) produced 20 points and 6 steals to pace the North American side. USA led from start to finish. They erupted for massive 71 points in the first half and secured an unassailable 50-point lead. USA cruised to the victory after the long break. Romeo Weems (195-F-01) delivered 17 points and 7 rebounds in the win. Bautista Lugarini (199-F-01) responded with 15 points for Argentina.

Canada - Puerto Rico 81-66
Canada outscored Puerto Rico to advance into Final in Formosa. Cashius Mcneilly (185-SG-01) stepped up with 23 points and 9 boards for the winners. Canada dominated in the first half. They poured in 46 points to take a 17-point halftime lead. Puerto Rico slowed their opponents down in the second half but could not overcome the deficit and had to surrender at the end. Shemar Rathan-Mayes (178-G-01) tossed in 14 points for the winners. Andre Curbelo (185-PG-01) responded with game-high 27 points and 9 boards for Puerto Rico.
5-8 Place
Paraguay - Mexico 60-71
Mexico outgunned Paraguay in the classification round. Gibran Avelino (192-PG-01) provided 19 points for the winning side. Paraguay grabbed a 16:13 lead after ten minutes. Mexico however erased the deficit and pulled ahead for a 31:25 halftime lead. Mexico added 25 points in the fourth term and sealed the victory. Ivan Cruz (187-PF-01) delivered 14 points for the winners. Fabricio Ruiz (187-G-02) responded with 13 points for Paraguay.

Dominican Republic - Venezuela 71-57
Dominican Republic outgunned Venezuela in the classification round. David Jones (193-F/G-01) posted 14 points to lead the winners. Dominican Republic piled up a 31:18 halftime lead. Venezuela pulled within 7 points at the final intermission however Dominican Republic responded with a 30-point effort in the fourth term and sealed the win. Malvin Payero (182-PG-01) provided 12 points in the victory. Enderson Alcala (191-C-01) responded with 15 points and 7 rebounds for Venezuela.


Semifinals are set in Formosa - Jun 17, 2017

Group A
Paraguay - Argentina 52-71
Argentina overcame Paraguay to ensure the semifinal birth in Formosa. Bautista Lugarini (199-F-01) tallied 17 points and 13 boards for the winners. Paraguay jumped to an 18:11 lead after ten minutes. But the hosts responded with a strong surge in the second half. They ignited a 47:21 run after the big break to roll to a vital victory. Gaston Bertona (178-PG-01) and Lucas Gallardo (196-F-01) tossed in 13 points each in the win. Jose Barreto (185-F-01) responded with 20 points for Paraguay.

Canada - Venezuela 80-43
Canada rallied past Venezuela to secure the third consecutive victory in Group A. Taryn Todd (185-PG-01) stepped up with 13 points to pace the winners. Canada piled up a 41:19 halftime lead. They held Venezuela to just 24 points in the second half and cruised to the victory. Luka Sakota (185-PG-01) provided 11 points in the win. Andres Marrero (186-F-02) responded with 12 points for Venezuela.

Dominican Republic - Puerto Rico 88-94
Puerto Rico beat Dominican Republic to secure the semifinal stage birth. Andre Curbelo (185-PG-01) stepped up with 26 points to pace the winners. Puerto Rico eked out a 43:40 halftime lead. They poured in 26 points in the third term to extend the gap at 7-point mark at the final intermission. Dominican Republic poured in 26 points in the fourth term but could not avoid the loss. Victor Rosa (195-SF-01) and Diego Gonzalez (187-SG-01) had 16 points each in the win. David Jones (193-F/G-01) responded with 34 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists for Dominican Republic.

USA - Mexico 127-52
USA marched past Mexico to enter the semifinal stage unbeaten. Nine players scored in double digits for the winners. Zion Harmon (180-G-02) provided 17 points for USA. The North American side unleashed 70 points in the first half to take a massive 50-point lead. They never looked back afterwards cruising to the victory. DeVion Harmon accounted for 15 points for the winners. Ivan Cruz (187-PF-01) responded with 20 points for Mexico.



Day 2 in Formosa - Jun 16, 2017

Group A
Argentina - Venezuela 46-39
Argentina held off Venezuela to open win count in Formosa. Gaston Bertona (178-PG-01) provided 15 points and 7 rebounds in the victory. Argentina accumulated a 24:17 halftime lead. The teams traded baskets throughout the second half as the hosts rallied to the win. Matias Van Schmeling tossed in 10 points in the victory. Enderson Alcala (191-C-01) responded with 11 points and 15 rebounds for Venezuela.

Paraguay - Canada 71-79
Canada rallied past Paraguay for the second win in Formosa. Shemar Rathan-Mayes (178-G-01) provided 21 points and 7 rebounds to pace the North American side. Canada piled up a 40:26 halftime lead. Paraguay narrowed the deficit in the second half but could not avoid the defeat. Luka Sakota (185-PG-01) netted 15 points in the win. Matheus Blaich (188-F-01) and Sebastian Galarza (185-PF-01) delivered 12 points each for Paraguay.

Group B
Puerto Rico - Mexico 81-68
Puerto Rico celebrated the first victory at the tournament. They overcame Mexico for 1-1 record in Group B. Victor Rosa (195-SF-01) provided 14 points in the win. Puerto Rico accumulated a 42:31 halftime advantage. They extended the gap at 17-point mark at the final intermission and never looked back en route to the win. Jermaine Miranda (190-SG-01) and Andre Curbelo (185-PG-01) chipped in 11 points apiece in the victory. Ivan Cruz (187-PF-01) responded with 18 points for Mexico.

Dominican Republic - USA 45-94
USA gained the second straight victory at the tournament. They beat Dominican Republic to stay undefeated. James Wiseman (207-C-01) scored 15 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for the winning side. USA accounted for a comfortable 46:22 halftime lead. They poured in 48 points in the second half to ease to the victory. Zion Harmon (180-G-02) delivered 14 points in the win. Anfernee De La Rosa (193-F/G-02) replied with 15 points for Dominican Republic.



Day 1 in Formosa - Jun 15, 2017

Group A
Canada - Argentina 75-61
Canada outgunned Argentina for 1-0 record in Group A. Cashius Mcneilly (185-SG-01) delivered 22 points for the North American side. Canada dominated in the first half. They established a 43:26 halftime advantage. Argentina narrowed the gap in the second half but could not avoid the loss. Shemar Rathan-Mayes (178-G-01) accounted for 9 points for the winners. Gaston Bertona (178-PG-01) answered with 21 points for the hosts.

Venezuela - Paraguay 64-70
Paraguay rallied past Venezuela to open win count at the tournament. Jose Barreto (185-F-01) and Matheus Blaich (188-F-01) recorded 16 points each for the winners. Venezuela secured a 31:29 halftime lead. But Paraguay responded with a 26:19 rally in the final stanza and iced the victory. Fabricio Ruiz (187-G-02) had 12 points in the win. Alhan Diaz (175-G-01) and Andres Marrero (186-F-02) answered with 15 points each for Venezuela.

Group B
USA - Puerto Rico 110-69
USA captured the first victory at the championship. They cruised past Puerto Rico in Group B. Five players scored in double digits for the winners. Vernon Carey (204-C-01) banked in 17 points and 9 boards for USA. They grabbed a 24:11 lead ten minutes into the game. USA unloaded 62 points in the second half to ease to the win. Roderick Hampton (193-G-01) chipped in 16 points in the victory. Luis Rolon (185-G-01) answered with 18 points for Puerto Rico.

Mexico - Dominican Republic 45-86
Dominican Republic opened win count in Formosa. They drubbed Mexico in the opener. David Jones (193-F/G-01) stepped up with 22 points to lead the winning side. Dominican Republic piled up a comfortable 47:23 halftime lead. They did not loosen the grasp in the second half marching to a well-deserved victory. Julio Rodriguez (180-PG-01) and Jean Montero (185-G-03) had 14 points each for the winners. Ivan Cruz responded with 12 points for Mexico.
