Argentina finished in the second place in Group A as they rallied past Puerto Rico. Four players scored in double digits for the winners. Ivan Pratto (208-C-2007) posted 14 points and 9 rebounds in the victory. Puerto Rico led by two points heading into the fourth term. But Argentina responded with a 24-12 run in the final stanza to snatch the win. Tyler Kropp (204-PF-2007) had 12 points and 14 rebounds for the winners. Felipe Quinones (198-G-2008) answered with 15 points for Puerto Rico.
Mexico - USA 53-122
USA coasted past Mexico to enter the quarterfinal stage undefeated. USA posted a comfortable 56-21 halftime lead and never looked back en route to the victory. Anicet Dybantsa (203-G-2007) recorded 23 points, while Cameron Boozer (206-PF-2007) contributed 17 points and 10 rebounds for the USA. Karim Lopez (202-F-2007) answered with 23 points for Mexico.
Uruguay - Dominican Republic 76-77
Dominican Republic nipped Uruguay to gain the first win in Merida. Uruguay recorded a 36-33 halftime advantage. Dominican Republic used a 24-19 run in the third term to snatch a narrow lead. Uruguay sank 21 points in the fourth stanza but could not avoid the loss. Lucas Morillo (201-G-2007) banked in 28 points and 14 rebounds for the winning side. Joaquin Taboada (190-SF-2007) answered with 21 points for Uruguay.
Canada - Brazil 74-56
Canada stormed past Brazil to record the third straight win in Mexico. The North American side piled up a 35-26 halftime lead. They added 39 points in the second half to march to the win. Paul Osaruyi (203-F-2008) delivered 21 points and 11 rebounds, while Patrick Anamali (195-SF-2007) and Elijah Patterson (188-SG-2007) had 15 points each for the winners. Patrick Perna (191-SF-2007) netted 18 points and grabbed 9 rebounds for Brazil.
