Danubio - Verdirrojo 77-87 The game between 7th ranked Danubio (2-4) and ninth ranked Verdirrojo (3-3) in Montevideo ended with biggest points difference. Guests from Montevideo beat Danubio 87-77. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Danubio. Verdirrojo had a 37-22 advantage in offensive rebounds. Danubio was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Forward Martin Aguilera (195-87) scored 28 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and guard Andres Dotti (180-93) chipped in 21 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. At the losing side Argentinian forward Martin Chervo (200-92) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds and forward Nicolas Andreoli (197-0) scored 12 points and 7 rebounds. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Sayago dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Tabare's 24 and made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. Lithuanian center Zygimantas Riauka (206-93, college: UW-Parkside) notched a double-double by scoring 23 points and 22 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws) to lead the effort and center Joaquin Jones (199-97) supported him with 12 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists. Even 14 points and 4 assists by point guard Leandro Taboada (180-86) did not help to save the game for Tabare. Argentinian center Ignacio Alessio (203-87) added 9 points and 9 rebounds for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Sayago moved-up to sixth place, which they share with U.Atletica and Verdirrojo. Tabare lost third consecutive game. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of 8th ranked 25 de Agosto (2-3) to fifth ranked Colon (4-2) 64-63 on Tuesday evening. Worth to mention a great performance of guard JMartin Mayora (181-95) who helped to win the game recording 17 points and 4 assists. Point guard Martin Trelles (187-96) contributed with 12 points and 7 assists for the winners. Four Colon players scored in double figures. Argentinian power forward Franco Pennacchiotti (205-90) replied with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 16 rebounds and 5 assists and point guard Lucas Capalbo (175-0, college: Odessa JC) added 9 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists in the effort for 25 de Agosto. Miramar was defeated at home 87-95 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. U.Atletica shot the lights out from three sinking 15 long-distance shots on high 51.7 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. American forward Antonio Bivins (198-92, college: UMass Lowell) notched a double-double by scoring 30 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and Emilio Taboada (191-82) supported him with 21 points and 9 assists. Even a double-double of 17 points and 13 rebounds by Sebastian Ottonello (195-97) did not help to save the game for Miramar. Point guard Ignacio Morena (183-0) added 10 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists for lost side. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. U.Atletica have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Sayago and Verdirrojo. Miramar lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the eleventh position with five games lost. They share it with Tabare.
