They shocked hosting Mexico in overtime to capture the trophy. Edir Ortiz (198-PF-03) stepped up with 28 points, 10 steals and 8 rebounds to lead the charge. Mexico posted a 42-33 halftime lead. They extended the margin at 16-point mark heading into the fourth frame. But Puerto Rico responded with a 21-5 run in the next period to force overtime. They outscored Mexico in the extra period to snatch the win. Alejandro Aviles (206-C-06) and Jose Ortiz (04) had 12 points each for Puerto Rico. Santiago Camacho (04) answered with 35 points for Mexico. 3-4 PlaceDominican Republic - Costa Rica 102-54Dominican Republic earned the third position as they crushed Costa Rica in the consolation final. Yeison Liberato (198-SF-05) provided 19 points to lead the winners. Dominican Republic grabbed a 45-31 halftime lead. They sank 57 points in the second half and cruised to the victory. Jose Jimenez (190-SF-04) finished with 15 points for Dominican Republic. Jamaica eked out a 23-21 lead after ten minutes. But Panama responded with a 46-35 run in the next two quarters to surge ahead. They protected the lead throughout the fourth frame and rallied to the win. Humberto Kentish (173-G-05) provided 16 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists for Panama. London Johnson (190-G-04) responded with game-high 34 points, 13 rebounds and 7 assists for Jamaica. 7-8 PlaceEl Salvador - Aruba 73-59El Salvador finished the tournament on a high note. They knocked down Aruba to clinch the seventh position. El Salvador earned a 46-33 halftime lead. They controlled the tempo in the second half and rallied to the win. Aram Soqui (188-G-05) delivered 26 points to lead the charge. The hosts poured in 58 points in the first half to open a 31-point lead at the big break. Mexico added 56 points in the second half and coasted to the victory. Santiago Camacho (04) netted 23 points for the winners. Julian Solis (188-G-04) topscored with 20 points for Costa Rica. Puerto Rico - Dominican Republic 81-80 Puerto Rico nipped Dominican Republic to advance into the Final in Mexicali. Puerto Rico sank 23 points in the fourth quarter to snatch a tough victory at the end. Alejandro Aviles (206-C-06) delivered 25 points and 17 rebounds to pace the effort. Dominican Republic enjoyed a 38-34 halftime lead. But Puerto Rico unloaded 47 points in the second half and got away with a tough victory at the end. Costa Rica - Panama 70-66 Costa Rica topped Panama to earn the second position in Group A. Costa Rica grabbed a 35-21 halftime lead. Panama sank 31 points in the fourth quarter but could not avoid the loss. Julian Solis (188-G-04) stepped up with 21 points to pace the winners. Fabian Arce (177-G-04) added 16 points in the victory. Humberto Kentish (173-G-05) answered with 18 points for Panama. Puerto Rico - Aruba 104-33 Puerto Rico eased past Aruba for the third straight win in Mexicali. Puerto Rico accounted for a 53-18 halftime lead. They sank 51 points in the second half to cruise to the victory. Omar Sanchez (04) netted 24 points, while Joviel Acevedo (04) added 15 points for Puerto Rico. Kyrian Brooks (04) answered with 11 points and 10 rebounds for Aruba. Jamaica - Dominican Republic 67-103 Dominican Republic ensured the tournament's semifinal berth. They stormed past Jamaica to occupy the second spot in Group B. Puerto Rico - Costa Rica 95-60 Puerto Rico cruised past Costa Rica for the second straight win in Group A. Puerto Rico piled up a 44-27 halftime lead. They sank 51 points in the second half and marched to a comfortable win at the end. Jose Ortiz (04) netted 14 points, while Joviel Acevedo (04) and Yaniel Rivera (190-SG-04) added 11 points each for the winners. Andres Mora (176-F-04) answered with 23 points for Costa Rica. Aruba - Panama 48-108 Panama rallied past Aruba for the first win in Mexicali. Panama opened a comfortable 33-17 lead after ten minutes. They followed with a strong 60-20 second half run to seal the win. Eight players scored in double digits for Panama. Jorge Roca (175-SG-04) netted 15 points for the winners. Kyrian Brooks (04) answered with 18 points for Aruba. Jamaica - El Salvador 95-78 Jamaica improved at 1-1 record in Group B as they prevailed against El Salvador. Jamaica sank 26 points in the second term to open an 8-point halftime lead. Jamaica stayed red hot offensively in the second half as they poured in 47 points and rallied to the win. Costa Rica - Aruba 93-41 Costa Rica stormed past Aruba in the opener. Julian Soles came up with 25 points to lead the winners. Costa Rica sank 62 points in the first half to take a massive 51-point lead heading into the second half and never looked back en route to the win. Panama - Puerto Rico 70-85 Puerto Rico outscored Panama to ensure the first win at the championship. Panama led by five points at the first break. But Puerto Rico responded with a 28-10 run in the second term to take a 13-point halftime lead. Puerto Rico sank 42 points in the second half to protect the lead and rally to the win. El Salvador - Dominican Republic 58-114 Dominican Republic eased past El Salvador in the first game at the tournament. Seven players scored in double digits for the winning side. Mexico grabbed a 58-29 halftime lead. They sank 59 points in the second half to cruise to the victory. Victor Valdes (04) delivered 14 points for the winners.
