Centrobasket U17 Championship begins today

The 2009 Centrobasket U17 Championship for Men begins today in Aguascalientes, Mxico where seven countries will play for three spots for the 2010 FIBA Americas U18 Championship.

The seven participating countries were divided into two groups. Group A has Bahamas, Dominican Republic, Guatemala and Mexico. Group B counts with Nicaragua, Puerto Rico and US Virgin Islands. British Virgin Islands announced that they will not participate in this tournament.

Two games are scheduled for tonight as Puerto Rico faces Nicaragua at 18:00 while at 20:30 Mexico plays Guatemala.

The Dominican Republic could not arrive on time for the first day and their debut is on July 22 at 10:30 am against Bahamas
