Puerto Rico - U.S. Virgin Islands 111-58
Puerto Rico finished Preliminary Round at the U17 Centrobasket Championship undefeated. After 111-55 victory in the first game against Nicaragua, the Puerto Ricans blasted US Virgin Islands with huge 111-58. It means that Puerto Rico advanced to Semifinals as No.1 from Group B and they will meet No.2 from Group A - Dominican Republic. US Virgin Island also reached the Semis thanks to 123-30 win against Nicaragua. However, they will take on undefeated Mexico. Wil Martinez (-93) top-scored in Puerto Rico yesterday with 21 points. Angel Rodriguez (-94) had 17 and Angel Matias (-93) drained 2 points less. USVI go 16 points from Aaron Brown (-92).
Mexico - Dominican Republic 85-65
Another magnificent performance by Mexico at the U17 Centrobasket Championship. The hosts of this event were better than Bahamas and Guatemala in the first two games, and yesterday they defeated Dominican Republic by 20. Naturally, with perfect 3-0 record Mexico advanced to Semifinals as No.1 in Group B. The Dominicans also advanced, but as No.2. Javier Meza (-93) was a key player in victory scoring 24 points. Kevin Acosta (-94) was behind him with 19, while Ernesto Morales (-94) helped with 11. In defeat, Deivy Martinez (-93) netted 16 points. Ted Jimenez (-93) followed with 13. Mexico will meet US Virgins Islands in the Semis, while Dominicans will take on Puerto Rico.
Bahamas - Guatemala 97-41
