Puerto Rico is U17 Centrobasket champion! The Puerto Ricans destroyed Mexico in the Big Final 92-58 finishing the contest undefeated. It means that Puerto Rico won the Gold and the host of this event will have to be satisfied with silver medal. Angel Rodriguez (-94) was totally unstoppable draining 34 points and pulling down 5 rebounds. He made 6 of 11 attempts from behind the arc. Angel Matias (-93) and Jose Agosto (-93) followed with 13 points each. In Team Mexico, Kevin Acosta (-94) scored 18 pts.

Dominican Republic - U.S. Virgin Islands 74-81
U.S. Virgin Islands outplayed Dominican Republic in the battle for third place at the U17 Centrobasket in Mexico. Both squads suffered huge defeats in the Semis by Mexico and Puerto Rico, but it seems that the Dominicans recover faster. Aaron Brown (-92) was totally the best player in the winning squad. He spent 31 minutes on the court draining the same number of points. Rasheed Swanston (-95) and Merwin Potter (-93) also were good delivering 14 pts each. Eddy Guisarri (-94) responded with 28 points in loss.

Bahamas - Guatemala 82-57
Bahamas registered 82-57 victory against Guatemala grabbing the fifth place at the U17 Centrobasket. Position number 6 belongs to Guatemalans. Samuel Johnson (-93) led Bahamas collecting 18 points and 13 rebounds. Lamaal Walker had 14 and Alexander Rolle (-93) added 12 pts, plus 7 assists. The Guatemalans got double-double from Freddy Fernandez (-93), 21 pts and 11 rebs.
